In our society, scalp hair is an important determinant of attractiveness and self image. Men and women may begin experiencing hair loss as early as adolescence or later in adulthood.

Hair loss have a serious psychological impact. Studies have shown that hair loss may be associated with:

The most prevalent type of hair loss is the male/female pattern of hair loss which occurs in 30% of men by age of 30, 50% of men by the age of 50 and 50% of women by the age of 60.

MALE Pattern Hair Loss is characterised by hair loss from the crown of the head or the hairline, while the back and sides of the head are unaffected. FEMALE Pattern  Hair Loss on the other hand, is usually more diffused and less noticeable in the early stages, as it doesn't appear in the obvious 'M' or 'O' pattern that characterises a man's hair loss.
